Cast & Crew
Meet the characters who play a role in the Algarve Adventures Series.

Sofie Treuhart
At ten years old, Sofie Treuhart carries the curiosity, determination, and sharp intuition of someone going on eighteen. Courageous, fiercely independent, and quick to act, Sofie is the driving force behind the Treuharts’ discoveries. Her Luxembourgish roots connect her to centuries-old secrets, and her gift for seeing patterns others miss allows her to navigate puzzles that have confounded scholars for generations. Balancing loyalty to family and friends with an insatiable hunger for truth, Sofie stands at the heart of a story stretching across continents and centuries.

Leo Treuhart
Eight-year-old Leo Treuhart is Sofie’s sarcastic, soccer-loving younger brother with the quick wit of someone a decade older. Equal parts comedic relief and unexpected problem-solver, Leo thrives under pressure even when he pretends not to care. His ability to improvise and spot overlooked details often pulls the group out of danger. Though his banter masks it well, Leo is deeply protective of Sofie and secretly loves being part of her adventures, even if he insists otherwise.

Astrid Falkenbourg Treuhart
Astrid Treuhart, maiden name Falkenbourg, is Sofie and Leo’s mother, a distinguished professor of marine biology now at the University of the Algarve, and the family’s unshakable center of calm. Beneath her composed academic persona, Astrid shares an unrevealed past with Wesley involving treasure hunting, hidden archives, and rival factions stretching across Europe. Astrid’s noble Luxembourgish heritage gives her access to old family alliances, rare manuscripts, and long-forgotten histories critical to the Treuharts’ journey. Her wisdom, intuition, and quiet resilience make her a steady guide, though the full extent of her secrets remains unknown, even to Wesley.

Wesley Treuhart
Wesley Treuhart, historian and professor at the University of the Algarve, specializes in colonial history, economic history, and Europe’s influence on global trade and expansion. His research explores the legacy of maritime empires, transatlantic commerce, and the interplay between politics, economics, and exploration. A former mayor of Riverdale Park, Maryland, Wesley is also a licensed pilot who thrives on exploration. Like Astrid, he carries an adventurous past hidden from Sofie and Leo, one steeped in dangerous discoveries and rival treasure hunters. Calm, strategic, and unshakably loyal to his family, Wesley acts as the family’s protector and puzzle-solver, but his history suggests unfinished business that may soon catch up to him.

Jasper Falkenbourg (“Gramps”)
Jasper Falkenbourg, Astrid’s father and Sofie and Leo’s grandfather, is a master of secrets disguised as a gentle archivist. Formerly operating under non-official cover within the intelligence community, Jasper participated in Cold War-era artifact recoveries, coded transmissions, and operations tied to people and organizations that lurked only in the shadows. His decades-long partnership with Axel Lund hints at missions never fully disclosed, and his extensive network still grants him access to classified knowledge. Jasper rarely reveals his full hand, preferring to guide Sofie and Leo with breadcrumbs rather than instructions. Still, his influence is undeniable, and his past is more dangerous than his family realizes.

Mary Drachenfels Falkenbourg (“Mimi”)
Mimi Drachenfels Falkenbourg, Astrid’s mother and Sofie and Leo’s grandmother, descends from the House of Drachenfels, an old Luxembourgish-German noble line bound to the legendary Castle Drachenfels overlooking the Rhine. Regal, fiercely intelligent, and protective of her family, Mimi embodies the weight of centuries of lineage tied to knights, nobles, and whispered alliances with orders long thought lost. The castle itself, scarred by wars yet still standing in haunting ruin, remains a symbol of her family’s heritage, a place shrouded in legends of relics hidden and secrets never spoken aloud. While Mimi carries herself as a matriarch of grace and quiet dignity, she knows more about the ties between her family, the Templars, and secret societies than she admits, often guiding Astrid, Sofie, and Leo with subtle hints that point back to their ancestral past.
Friends & Foes

Claus van Vogel
Claus van Vogel, Sofie’s classmate and intellectual counterpart, grew up in the shadow of Château du Mik in Antwerp, Henri Stier’s opulent Belgian estate, which later inspired the Riversdale mansion in Maryland. Precise, analytical, and endlessly curious, Claus is obsessed with decoding puzzles and tracing historical lineages, skills inherited from his family’s proximity to Stier’s archives. While his reserved nature often contrasts with Sofie’s boldness, the two share a deep trust and mutual respect. Claus’s intimate knowledge of Stier’s history often gives the group an edge when ancient riddles resurface.

Annika van Vogel
Annika, Claus’s twin sister and Sofie’s closest friend, shares her brother’s deep curiosity but pairs it with artistic insight and emotional intuition. Where Claus sees patterns in documents, Annika sees them in art, symbols, and architecture, often uncovering meanings hidden in plain sight. Confident yet empathetic, she acts as the group’s moral compass, sensing danger and unspoken intentions before anyone else. Her bond with Sofie grows stronger as they navigate the tangled web of past and present.

Axel Lund
Axel Lund, officially a retired Swedish archaeologist, is far more than his cover suggests. With expertise in medieval European artifacts and access to obscure intelligence networks, Axel is believed to have worked on high-level classified missions, many alongside Jasper Falkenbourg. His knowledge of covert operations, encoded archives, and artifact movements places him in the shadows between history and espionage. Axel’s stoic demeanor hides formidable skills and motivations, and while his loyalty to Jasper is unquestionable, his true objectives remain deliberately concealed.

Pedro Salgado
Pedro, director of the Riversdale Museum in Maryland, is an expert on Henri Stier and transatlantic colonial trade routes. Serving as a vital link between the Treuharts’ Maryland origins and their unfolding mysteries in Europe, Pedro provides archival access, contextual insights, and professional credibility. However, his close relationship with Alaric Harland and family ties to Lauren Pimenta suggest that Pedro may know far more about what the Treuharts are looking for and its true significance than he admits.

Lauren Pimenta
Lauren Pimenta, Pedro’s cousin and director of the Faro Municipal Museum in Portugal, is bold, curious, and fearless in pursuing hidden truths. With strong local connections and deep roots in Portuguese cultural heritage, Lauren frequently assists the Treuharts in gaining access to restricted archives and interviews. Yet her overlapping ties to Pedro, and possibly to factions of others seeking the same paths the Treuharts are, leave lingering doubts about where her loyalties truly lie.

Alaric Harland
Alaric Harland, owner of The Curious Quill on Amelia Island, Florida, is an enigmatic broker of forbidden knowledge, rare manuscripts, and historical artifacts. Smooth, cultured, and dangerously ambiguous, Alaric appears to serve multiple masters, his alliances shifting as easily as his calm persona. While his connection to Pedro Salgado offers the Treuharts rare access to Riversdale archives, hints buried in his lineage suggest that Alaric’s family history intersects with people who want to keep secrets buried. Whether he is a reluctant ally, a manipulative adversary, or something in between remains one of the series’ central questions.

Pippa Draycott
Pippa Draycott comes from old London money and carries herself like it. Her dark hair is usually braided with precision, every strand in its place, just like her carefully curated image. Behind her polite smile lies a sharp wit and a habit of turning charm into currency. With parents more interested in tax advantages than parenting, Pippa has learned to rely on control, influence, and subtle manipulation to get what she wants. Intelligent, competitive, and quietly ambitious, she hides her insecurities beneath confidence and poise. She watches everything, remembers details others forget, and never misses an opportunity to remind people she’s a Draycott.
The Ordem dos Ossos

The Magister
The Magister, the Ordem dos Ossos’ enigmatic leader, is a genderless, faceless figure known only through whispers and directives. Feared and revered in equal measure, the Magister commands absolute loyalty within the Order and orchestrates its operations with ruthless precision. No one outside the inner circle knows their true identity, and even among high-ranking OdO members, the Magister is treated less as a person and more as an institution, timeless, unyielding, and untouchable.

Drago
Drago serves as the Magister’s right hand, the OdO’s field commander, strategist, and enforcer. Calculating and relentless, Drago leads the Order’s most dangerous missions and has little tolerance for failure. While utterly loyal to the Magister, whispers persist that his ambitions may eventually push him toward greater power within the Order.

Anaïs – Keeper of Secrets
Anaïs, the OdO’s Keeper of Secrets, safeguards the Order’s hidden knowledge: secret identities, shadow alliances, covert caches, and encrypted histories spanning centuries. Noble and enigmatic, Anaïs is known for her sharp intellect, unshakable composure, and a presence that commands attention without effort. Her almond-shaped eyes, fluid movements, and deliberate words make her an unreadable figure, one equally capable of disarming charm or calculated menace.

Isolde – Keeper of Relics
Isolde, the OdO’s Keeper of Relics, is cold, calculating, and fiercely territorial over the artifacts entrusted to her care. With piercing icy eyes and a short temper, she inspires fear even among other high-ranking OdO operatives. Rumored to share a twin-like bond with Valente, Isolde seems connected to him by more than blood, perhaps by an unbroken oath tied to the Order’s origins. Her mastery of OdO’s vaults and hidden repositories makes her one of the most dangerous figures in the organization.

Valente – The Watcher
Valente, known within the OdO as “The Watcher,” operates in perpetual shadow. Mysterious, deliberate, and bound by an ancient lineage tracing directly to the original Templar knights, Valente’s authority is unmatched among field operatives. While Isolde guards what is visible, Valente guards what must remain unseen, watching events unfold, manipulating outcomes from the darkness, and intervening only when absolutely necessary. His presence is rarely noticed, yet always felt. Among OdO operatives, Valente is equal parts myth, guardian, and executioner.
